Crazy Shoppers!
We received a Big W Toy Sale Catalouge in the mail the other week that had 130 pages of toys in it! We have a friend who works there and we'd planned to go in to the store this morning to layby some things right up until December for Ezekiel's birthday and Christmas. Our friend told us that the store actually opened at 12:01am and suggested that we get in there at that time to make sure we got what we wanted. She did mention that a couple of years ago the store was open for 24 hours and it didnt really work all that well because there wasnt many people around.
Jeremy ventured out last night with a small list of things to put on layby. I just realised that you dont have layby in Canada. It's where you just put things on hold for a few months and pay them off.
Anyways, Jeremy pulled up to a FULL car park and was met with a big crowd out the front of the store at midnight. When the store opened everyone run for the toy section and Jeremy got what he wanted and realised the layby line was becoming long in a very short amount of time. He ended up getting in line about 20 metres from the layby counter and it took him an hour to get to the counter!!
He got home at 1:30am this morning and as he was walking out he saw the layby line which had almost made a whole loop of the store it was that long, and the store is quiet big! So many people waiting to place things on layby.
Our friend sent me a text message with a 4am update saying that the store was still full of hundreds of shoppers and that the layby line was still as long as it was when Jeremy was there and that the store had taken over $80,000 worth of sales within 4 hours!
Isn't that just crazy!
We're all set now & dont have to think about birthday or Christmas presents!

Zeke @ A Backyard Makeover
We have a guy in our church, Ricki, who is great at photography.
Last Saturday our church did a makeover of a community house here in Bendigo that's situated in a very low socioeconomic area. We went there and painted everything, ripped out an old sandpit and relocated it and put new sand in it. Put new soft fall chips down in he playground, weeded, planted new trees etc. It was a great day and Ezekiel was a good helper and enjoyed playing on the playground.
Here's a few photos from the day. The first one is of Zeke at church one weekend.

Playing
The weekend is just about here.
We havent got a lot planned this weekend. We've been out and about in the garden ripping out plants and trimming back hedges. We're getting ready to plant some new plants at the front of our house that are drought resistant and can cope with little water.
The mornings are quite cold here but the days are beautiful. Zeke & I love getting outside to play and walk all over the place.
We're stuck home half the week cause Jeremy takes the car to work but we manage to keep ourselves occupied. Ezekiel LOVES drawing so much. He sat down the other day for almost a whole hour and did nothing but color in his coloring book of Thomas the Tank engine. That kid is obsessed with Thomas.
I'm just about to buy him a potty to start potty training him. Everytime we take his nappy off at night before a bath, he insists and HAS to do a nudie run all over the house and usually pees somewhere so I want to get him sitting on the potty!
A few weeks ago we turned the spare room into a playroom for him, which got rid of so many toys from the lounge room which was nice. He spends a lot of time in there playing with all sorts of toys that mostly his Nan-Nan buys him!
I went to look at beds the other day to see how much we'd be looking at spending. We hope to have one in his room by his 2nd birthday and start getting him to sleep in a big bed.
Here's a photo of Zeke playing in his play room today.
