the B-I-G party!

It hasnt rained in weeks here in Bendigo and it decides to rain the day of Ezekiel's party. We had to call our friends and cancel lunch and ask them to drop over in the afternoon cause we couldnt fit everyone in the house!

We had my family over for lunch at 12pm...there was lots and lots of noise and people crammed in everywhere to play with Zeke and have lots of fun. My aunty, Leanne and cousin, Laura came up from Paynesville which is about 6 hours SE of bendigo for the party and to catch up with us before Christmas.

We sang happy birthday which we got on video.

Mum did an amazing job with Zeke's cake (as you can see in photos below) which was chocolate cake which Zeke thoroughly enjoyed.

The family ended up leaving at about 2:45pm and then around 25-30 other friends (adults & kids) came over until about 5pm!

Ezekiel was very spoilt & loved the attention. He was showing off to everyone showing them how good he could walk! :P

Zeke was soooooo TIRED by the end of the day. As soon as everyone left he had tea, a long bath, a quick play and fell asleep drinking his bottle!
We hope he sleeps all the way through tonight cause we're exhausted too!

AND we have to do it all over again tomorrow, only not his birthday but we're having Christmas with my dad before they all go off to Queensland for Christmas so its going to be another LONG day tomorrow for us!

Happy Birthday Ezekiel Jaymz!

Yes...it's hard to believe one year ago today I was up in Hospital in labour. Zeke wasnt born till 7:18pm today but I just cant believe that we have a one year old son!

He was up at 6:30am this morning playing with his Noah's Ark present that he got from his grandparents in Canada. It's a hit! He loves touching all the soft parts on the animals and he crawls around with one in each hand and one in his mouth!!

We gave him some more animals to go with Noah's Ark & a little green bike!

We put him on it and you should have seen the massive smile on his face as I pushed him around the lounge room...it was very cute. I then proceeded to push him around for another 15 minutes because he loved it so much. Now I'm kinda wondering why on earth I bought it when all my time is going to be taken up pushing him around the house! ha ha!! Oh, it's all fun!

The past year has been amazing! We (I'll speak on behalf of Jeremy) have been so extremely blessed with an amazing son who not only is very healthy but is also truly one of the happiest children we know. He's ALWAYS got a BIG smile on his face and is such a good little boy!!

Ezekiel has just woken up so I have to go but I'll be sure to post lots of picture from today and his big party tomorrow!

As I sit here and write this blog, Ezekiel is laying on the floor next to me on his tummy licking the tiles in the kitchen....just charming! ha ha!

Video Trouble

Hi all,

We seem to be having trouble with our camera & computer. We are unable to get videos off our camera, we can't play them on the computer or load them onto any websites...so we wont be posting any video's until we can work it out. Sorry.

First Steps

Ezekiel has taken a few steps in the last couple of days! =)

Last night he was standing up against the couch and then he let go and took 2 steps and then stopped and took another 2 and then fell on the ground!

Jeremy and I were so excited!

I'll try and get it on camera soon although whenever the camera comes out he's not interested in doing anything other than trying to hold, eat or suck on the camera!

Swimming Lessons

Swimming Lessons are so much fun! We go a little early each week so we can spend some time just kickin' around in the pool and can practise blowing bubbles in the water as you'll see in some photos! =) Ezekiel is starting to get the hang of it now and even practises blowing bubbles when I give him a drink of water out of a cup, just charming!

5 more Fridays & Zeke is....ONE!

Can you believe it!? Our little boy Ezekiel is ONE in 5 weeks time!! I'm in shock at the fact that this year has sped by so incredibly fast and shocked at the rate in which Ezekiel is growing!!

I just bought birthday invitations today and already thinking of the big party that we're going to have and all the people we're going to invite. I really wish all our Canadian family could be here to celebrate on the big day. But don't worry we'll get plenty of photos and video footage to show you!

Zeke is getting way more steadier on his feet now. He can stand up for maybe 5 - 10 seconds without falling down!! I'll have to get it on video soon.

Mum came to swimming lessons with us this morning. I dont think my camera was working that great so I only have a couple. I'll get more next week and most more then.

Mischief

This is what happens when the house becomes awfully quiet!!
















Zeke's has turned into such a little dancer. Whenever he hears a beat he starts bopping up and down, its very cute!
I was playing music on my laptop and that's what he's looking at, trying to figure out where the music was coming from. =)

Zeke got a walker yesterday and had a little trouble keeping up with it at first but today its all he wants to do! Stand up and walk with the walker...crash into something...grump out of frustration cause he cant go anywhere...I turn him around and he's off again!

While I was waiting for these videos to upload Ezekiel was eating lunch. I gave him a peg to play with cause he loves them! (??) I figured out if I pegged them on a part of the highchair they fly in the air...he thought it was quite funny!

FUNNY STORY!!

Oh my goodness, this is funny! Kinda gross but funny!

So I give Zeke time with his nappy off every day, he loves crawling around with no nappy on. Yesterday I took his nappy off just before bath time and he was crawling around like a crazy little boy all in the lounge room, his bedroom and the bathroom.

He'd crawl around the corner and come back and crawl around the corner and crawl back laughing and carrying on.

I went into the bathroom to run the bath and I said to Jeremy, "Oh, there's water all over the floor, what's that from?" not even thinking that Zeke has weed all over the floor and Jer replies, "Oh, you know what it is? Ezekiel has weed on the floor."

At that moment Zeke comes crawling into the bathroom as fast as he could possible crawl and he just slides across the bathroom floor on his tummy through all his wee and he's laughing as he did it!

I was like, "Ohhhhhhh.....GROSS!"

I picked him up bt the hands to stand up and he's feet are slipping and sliding EVERYWHERE and he thought it was great.

Lucky it was bathime!!

Mum bought Zeke an Elmo chair today which is just adorable. It giggles and vibrates when you lean on the back of the chair. When Zeke woke up this morning I popped him in it 5 minutes after he got up, which was a bad idea because he kinda got scared of it cause he was half asleep I think. So the whole day he would literally crawl so far around it and just stare at it! By the end of the day though he was actually touching it!

We finally caught a sad face! It's such a sad little face but I couldnt stop laughing when I saw it cause we were finally able to get it on camera! I was out when Jer was bathing him tonight but apparently he kept wanting to stand up in the bath and Jer was telling him off and he kept dropping the bottom lip & Jer got it.

He actually drops the bottom lip way better than in this picture!

He's so cute!

We're back!

Not that we really went anywhere, we were just flat out with our annual 'History Makers' conference last week at church.

Things are all well in Bendigo.

We're just waiting on the 'official' approval with our finance and then nothing else needs to be done until the settlement date which is the 26th of November.
So we'll pack up everything for the last time for a long while which will be very nice.
It'll be a great feeling to be able to call our house 'our own home!'

Ezekiel is well. He's sleeping really well at night. Last week he slept all through the night for 3 nights in a row which was very timely having the conference on. I was able to get lots of rest and a great nights sleep. He's only waking once usually which is great!

Day time naps arent going so great at the moment, he's not great at self settling again so I've had a sleep lady named, Lyn, come over and help with strategies and hints to help him learn to self settle!

Ezekiel is growing at a rapid rate. He's saying so many new sounds and says 'dadda' all the time now. He says 'mum' and 'bubba' too...and the last week I've been working on 'ta' (our version of thanks) which he's picked up really well!

He's getting stronger on his feet...no signs of walking yet but he has been standing up momentarily the last few days. It wont be long.

I've booked Zeke into swimming lessons starting this Friday for 9 weeks at 9:45am for half an hour. I'm so excited about taking him! I'll have to take mum with me to get lots of photos of us in the water!

His favorite thing to do in the bath at the moment is bend over and put his face in the water. He thinks it's so funny along with sticking his mouth under the running tap!

His personality is continuing to develop....he's become little 'Mr. Attitude' the last week. Whenever we take things away from him, tell him off or if he gets frustrated he'll let out this mighty big groan with a really nasty little face. On the weekend he was trying to pick up 2 blocks in one hand and couldnt do it so he screamed and threw them down on the ground!

Oh man, what kinda child do we have on our hands!? he he...

Ezekiel is 10 months on Sunday which means ONE in 2 months! Arhhhh! I can't believe it!

Thanks for waiting. This week has been an incredibly busy week for Mommy and Daddy. They are at the HistoryMakers Conference at church. And its almost over. Then I'll be able to play with Mom and Dad all weekend! When it's over, I'll put more pictures and videos of me on here. I'm incredibly cute. Now you can see how I get all the older girls to pick me up!

Bath Time

Here are some recent photos of Ezekiel in the bath having lots of fun. I think bath time would have to be his favorite part of the day! He loves splashing anyone who dares to come close! =)

FUNNY!

I've never heard Ezekiel laugh so much. We were on the floor yesterday having fun and being silly. All of a sudden he started laughing histerically over something so simple, have a watch! :D

Tired

Ezekiel's sleeping patterns have been horrible the last almost 2 weeks now.

He's teething & I believe he's going through a little separation anxiety with me. Whenever he goes to someone now (sometimes even including his Dad) he watches me like a hawk, drops the bottom lips and start sooking or crying. When I walk away then he's sure to cry. Mum was over the other day and she was holding him, I just walked around the corner in the house and he started crying cause he couldnt see me.

I dont know what else is up with him but he's waking between 2 - 6 times a night just crying. Most of the time he's just looking for a little reassurance and a bit of a pat on the bottom and he's back asleep. But most often than not at the moment when Jer gets up to get him he starts crying and carrying on even more, not just a little, A LOT so mum comes to the rescue and he stops the minute I have him in my arms!

It's lovely and all that he loves me so much but it's so exhausting getting up so much so many nights in a row!

I'm praying like crazy its just another phase he's going through. Well actually I know its a phase but pray it doesnt continue on for much longer!! =)

Mum had him today when I was at work and he slept 45 minutes for her the whole day, needless to say he was extremely grumpy tonight and difficult to put to sleep because he was that overtired!

I've been a bit of a slacker and havent taken many photos lately, so I'll get to it and post some shortly.

Putting the sleeping problems aside...he's continuing to grow quickly and is nine months next week!! He's walking the furniture and getting more and more cheeky as the days pass. He's been laughing lots lately which is just delightful!

Squeaky Monkey's

Ezekiel's "Nan-Nan" bought him two monkey's today that squeak when you squeeze them. He was given one when he was born but its been chewed and squeezed so much that it's stopped squeaking and it was his favorite toy. Much to his delight he was given two brand new ones when "nan-nan" babysat him today. He just loves hanging onto toys and crawling around the floor. I couldnt get these monkey's out of his hands today! This is the sound I hear all day long...it's funny!

Things here are great. Busy like always. Ezekiel is continuing to grow at a rapid rate. I'm heading away tomorrow to Melbourne for a Children's Ministry Conference and will have TWO NIGHTS WITHOUT EZEKIEL *cries* I dont know how I'll cope...I'm going to miss him SO much but he's in good hands with his grandmother and daddy!
